DonJoy Performance announces today the addition of professional runner Nick Symmonds to its growing roster of supported professional athletes. The 32 year-old middle distance specialist, 2x Olympian and 6x US Champion will rely on the innovative line of products to help keep him healthy and injury-free as he prepares for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio De Janerio, Brazil.

Symmonds ran track in college at Williamette University in Salem, Oregon where he raced the 800 and 1500 meters in the NCAA Championships. After college, Symmonds joined the prestigious Oregon Track Club Elite where he has found success on a global level and went on to win many national and international running titles.

In 2014, Symmonds suffered a knee injury that nearly took him out of running. As he comes off a more recent calf tear, Symmonds is taking all measures to ensure his health leading up to, and during, competition in the upcoming events in Rio. Symmonds relies on the DonJoy Performance TRIZONE Calf Sleeve to provide triple-zoned muscle support and increased blood circulation so that he can train with confidence at full capacity.

“Since beginning to train in the TRIZONE calf sleeves, I have felt more confident to push myself harder and faster on the track, day in and day out, without the worry that I'll re-injure my calf. I'm feeling great going into trials and looking forward to laying it all on the line in July,” said Symmonds.

“Athletes who compete at Nick's level need the ability to push their bodies to the limit without hesitation. It is an honor that Nick trusts DonJoy Performance to get him to the start line in Rio healthy and ready to race his hardest,” said Toby Bost, president DJO Consumer.

TRIZONE support sleeves are available for the calf, knee, ankle and elbow and feature a unique hybrid design combining properties of compression and bracing in one sleeve to maintain peak performance during sport and activity. As part of his overall conditioning and recovery program, Symmonds also uses the Compex USA Wireless device, a brand within DJO's leading portfolio of sports medicine products, to improve blood flow and circulation.
